My recent visit to the European-style Bistro Bakery in Ellicott City, Maryland left me thoroughly impressed and utterly delighted. From the moment I stepped in, I knew I was in for a truly exceptional experience.
The attention to detail in both the establishment's aesthetics and the quality of their offerings is truly remarkable. The warm, inviting ambiance instantly put me at ease, and I found myself drawn to the charming, rustic decor that exudes an authentic European flair. This attention to creating a welcoming environment is not something you find everywhere, and it's a testament to the establishment's commitment to customer comfort.
Now, let's talk about the croissants. Oh, what a treat! The croissants here are nothing short of perfection. They are flaky, buttery, and baked to golden perfection. Each bite is a delightful journey of textures and flavors. Pairing one of their croissants with a latte is like a match made in heaven. The lattes are expertly crafted, offering a rich, aromatic experience that complements the pastries beautifully.
What truly sets this place apart is the dedication to product quality. It's evident that they take pride in the craftsmanship of their offerings, and that commitment shines through in every bite and sip.
In summary, the European-style Bistro Bakery in Ellicott City is a hidden gem that shouldn't remain hidden. If you appreciate attention to detail, high-quality pastries, and an inviting atmosphere, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit. It's a destination that effortlessly transports you to the heart of Europe, even if just for a moment, and I can't wait to return for another exquisite croissant and latte.
The food, service, and environment are great for date, breakfast, or to get a latte and read. The manager is very hospitality, and it makes you feel like he knows you for a long time. I highly recommend 👌🏼 …
Good coffee, good selection of coffee flavors. The pastries were hit or miss. When they heat them up they should actually heat them up.
Almond croissant- good flavor but under-filled - barely any almond meal, pretty much an empty pastry
Pretzel- great flavor but hard until reheated
Mushroom Wellington- salty salty salty mushy, lacking flavor. Could’ve used spinach or something, mushrooms needed some sweetness or something. Just flavorless buttery ick :(
Latte- delicious and came out fast
$20 for a latte, pretzel, Wellington to share with my aunt
Service was good enough. They were very nice young chaps who didn’t do perfect, but they tried there best and it was nice to see high schoolers working on a Saturday morning
We have eaten here twice, once in store and another as takeaway. The atmosphere is nice and cozy but the sound echoes when there is less people and can be deafening when full. Watch out if sensitive to noise. The pastries are delicious and their drink menu is extensive. Delighted to see some european treats make there way here. Parking is simple with a medium sized lot. During the day, it is child friendly as we saw many younger children and parents enjoy the cafe. We have had great service thus far and would highly recommend.
Lovely cafe. The owners/managers are friendly and generous with their conversation, knowledge, and products. Pastries are expensive… but I suppose that is no different from the rest of the restaurant environment these days. I adore the pan au raisin pastry!
I tried this place out a few weeks ago for the first time. I've been back three times since then. I appreciate the fact that they have indoor seating and outdoor seating. It's got a great ambience with nice decor. The food is excellent and the portions are outstanding. I've been here for both breakfast and lunch and really enjoyed the quality of the food. They have a good selection of sandwiches and pastries. Plentiful omelettes available for breakfast. I've made several changes to create a custom meal and they accepted it without problem and did exactly as I wanted to my sandwich. Service with a smile and friendly. I would recommend this place. It can be a little crowded in the mornings because it's a quality place to go and everyone knows it. I will continue to patronize this place for quite a long time. As long as the food and portion stay good This place will continue to do a great business..
We have been going to the Ellicott City location for years, because its local and convenient. I don't think we will be going back anymore. Service is getting worse, prices are high, food is inconsistent and has gotten smaller. Sometimes you get chips with your sandwich, and sometimes not. Sandwich size and quality varies a lot. The prices have always been a little high in my opinion, and if the quality/quantity and service are good, I could look past it. I have now seen a downward trend over the last 4 visits. I'll find another local option with better service and better value for the price. Sorry Roggenart, I used to really like you.
I decided to check out the restaurant so I ordered both a breakfast and a lunch item for takeout. The service was good and both items turned out to be pretty good. The restaurant is a little pricey for what it is. My Reuben sandwich was $12.99 and included a small bag of chips. My cheese omelette was $9.99 and came with sourdough bread. For comparison, the veggie omelette is $11.99 plus $1.99 if you want cheese with it. Keep in mind that you order at the counter and a tip option is displayed on the computer screen. The baked items looked very appetizing, and I will likely try them on my next visit.
